Growing up in a family that encouraged exploring new places as well as enjoying long-loved locales, I’ve developed a passion for travel that focuses on finding adventure all over the world and “The (Disney) World”. So far, this U.S.-based, “young-at-heart” traveler has visited 36 countries on this beautiful green and blue ball we call home with 10 more to add soon. I’ve spent 10 years living abroad in Central Asia enjoying the challenges of learning to fluently speak a foreign language and navigating the challenges of life without the common comforts often taken for granted. I think this has given me a unique perspective and ability to appreciate the people and cultures I visit. While every location I’ve been to is beautiful and amazing in its own way, there are a few I’d go back to again and again- Ubud, Bali, Tanzania, and Tuscany all come to mind quickly.
Travel and adventuring are not my only loves; I’m try to improve my photography whenever I can, and love to share what I’ve learned and experienced with whoever might have an interest in reading. When not out in the world somewhere away from home here in the lovely Commonwealth of Kentucky, I enjoy competitive, strategy board games, quiet mornings with coffee, listening to music on warm summer evenings on my deck with a glass of red wine in my hand, and time with family and friends. One of my life mottos is “Work to live not live to work.” That said, I adore my job as a Family Nurse Practitioner and work with the best team of providers and staff a girl could ever ask for! It gives me immense joy to see my patients achieve their health goals and does far more for me than “just pay the bills”.
To all who have come here to share in my wanderings, thank you! It’s a true joy to share my insights, stories, photos, tips, and tricks. I hope you like the posts as I share them. Please know that everything in here is but one person’s opinions and experiences. Yours may be different as every travel journey has its own dynamics, details, and circumstances. Each of us has a unique perspective and the pages I share here are only mine. Take what you will, but be gentle. And now… pour yourself a tall one and settle in for some virtual traveling!
